Solar FAQs

We use installers who have years of experience with the products we sell. We have a rigorous onboarding process for our installers to ensure the projects we deliver are at the highest of standards and they are operational long after their installation.

  • Solar Panels – Trina, Tindo (Australian Made)
  • Inverters – Sungrow, Fronius, Enphase
  • Racking – Clenergy
  • Monitoring – Solar Analytics, Switchdin
  • Switchgear – Schneider, Hager
  • Residential – approximately $1.00/kW installed /day
    • For example, if you have a 6.6kW solar system, you can assume that you will save around $6.60 per day or around $2400 per year. This is assuming cost of energy is $0.25 / kWh.

  • Commercial – approximately $0.80/kW installed / day
    • For example, if you have a 100kW solar system, you can assume that you will save around $80 per day or $29,000 per year. This is assuming cost of energy is $0.20 / kWh
  • Residential – 1-2 days.
  •
  • Commercial –  Depends on the size but typically we can install systems at a speed of 80kW per week. So a 100 kW system will take approximately 7 days.

Log into the portal – a solar system should produce and average of 4kWh/ kW installed if you are in Sydney.

Expected Solar generation in Cities

Yes – we offer a 1 year service with ALL our systems as part of our installation and workmanship.

  • Depends on how they are installed and if there are situated somewhere where they can be more dirty.
    • For example, if there are exhausts nearby/on your roof that produce particulates, they may be deposited on the panels which will result in more than often system cleans.
  • In most cases, dirty solar panels will only lead to a maximum of 5% underperformance. In more serious cases where there thick particulates depositing onto the panels, you can in excess of 15-20% underperformance.

If you don’t own the property, you can consult with your landlord to gain approval from them or potentially share the costs for the solar system.

In most cases, it will be beneficial for the landlord to install solar as the value of the property will increase as it is more environmental friendly and it lowers operational costs for tenants.

There are solutions for strata complexes where you can install a communal solar system and share it between tenancies.

Alternatively, you can install seperate solar systems on each seperate meter but you risk all the export not being utilised on site and essentially being wasted.

Solar Audits and Service FAQs

  • Remotely login to the inverter portal and review the data,
  • If you have no access to the portal – some inverters have a screen at the front of them – take some photos (date and time) and send them through to Omni for us to review.
  • We can request data from your electricity retailer and identify if there solar system is working based on the energy data profile. For example,
  • If there is no access to any data, you can organise a technician to go out to site and measure power the system is generating as well as log into the inverters at the site.

Request a quote from our contact page and fill in the information or email us at [email protected].

We will conduct either remote or on-site audit and we will send a report detailing what we have found.

Electric Vehicle Charging

  • AC Chargers – most cars are capped at 11kW when connected to an AC Charger. If your vehicle can charge this fast then it will charge in around 5-hours.
  • DC Chargers can go up to 350kW which can charger your car in around 15 minutes.

If your car can charge above 7kW and you have a 3-phase supply at your house then we recommend installing a 22kW charger. If you have no issues with slightly slower charging then a 7kW charger will suffice.

  • Omni can assess how much capacity you have available on your site through a feasibility study.
  • If we find that there is limited space available then we can install load management to ensure that your site does not trip if it is overloaded.

Energy Efficiency

  • HVAC – more energy efficiency air conditioning units.
  • Heating – Swapping existing gas heating for electric heat pumps
  • Stoves – Swapping gas heating for electric induction cooktops. Less wasted heat through induction.
  • We need to assess the current situation at the premises and make recommendations
  • You then apply for Energy Saving Certificates (ESCs) which are provided as an upfront rebate

You can save money through lowering your operating costs for your appliances. Your old appliances are old and innefficient which cost you a lot of money over the years.

Energy Brokering and Billing

Cheaper rates, they better understand how you use energy and may find the best retailer to suit your needs.
